A hall game event and instruction matches will feature Ao Kokubo 4-dan and Yuki Muroya Women's 3-dan. The two official notices list different end times, so check the latest schedule.
Komaterrace Nishisando near Sangubashi will hold its summer festival on Saturday, August 22, 2026. An earlier official notice lists the overall event from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and announces the theme, "A day when shogi and the neighborhood meet," along with plans for shogi activities and food and drink sales. A July 17 update added booking details for a game event and instruction matches in Komaterrace Nishisando Hall.
The game event is scheduled from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. with Ao Kokubo 4-dan and Yuki Muroya Women's 3-dan. Participants will play several games with the two players; the official notice says higher scorers will receive prizes and everyone will receive a participation gift. Capacity is 16 people and the fee is 3,000 yen.
Separate instruction matches in the hall run from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Kokubo's session has capacity for six people and Muroya's for four, with each ticket priced at 5,000 yen. Tickets for the instruction matches and game event are sold separately through the Japan Shogi Association online store, and customer cancellations are non-refundable. The newer notice puts the game event's end at 4:30 p.m., 30 minutes later than the overall festival end in the earlier notice, so confirm the latest schedule and sales status before booking.
